Resourcetrust provides input to RSPO to strengthen the two options for compensation available to growers in order to meet their conservation liability over and above remediation so as to help strengthen continued stakeholder trust and support for the RSPO system.

Resourcetrust joined other key stakeholders in the RSPO Open Day in Accra, Ghana to deliberate on the “RSPO New Planting Procedure (NPP) and the RSPO Remediation and Compensation Procedures (RaCP), related to Land Clearance without Prior HCV Assessment” This was part of the RSPO face-to-face public consultation for these requirements. The event which took place on 28 and 30 September at the La Palm Royal Beach Resort was held in conjunction with the Africa Sustainable Palm Oil Forum on 25 September 2015. The Forum was organized by Solidaridad West Africa and Proforest, with the support of RSPO. The Forum which was attended by the Minister for Food and Agriculture Hon. Fiifi Kwartey also brought together oil palm growers, civil society, financial institutions, development partners, and key experts to share knowledge and experiences on the theme “Sustainable Palm Oil in Africa: Getting it Right from the Start”
